This pallet rack clip is a bigger, heavier, stronger version of the original drop pin. It is designed to fit in all applications with a larger hole diameter. Like its predecessor, this drop pin prevents beams from dislodging in the event of damage caused by forklifts, or any movement during teardown or installation when used in conjunction with the original equipment manufacturer’s safety clip.
The 2.0 is easy-to-install, with the capability of front or side mounting by simply dropping the pin in the pallet rack holes. The most common application for our 2.0 is in used rack systems. It is common for even lightly used systems to have missing or damaged clips due to wear and tear, forklift contact, or damage from installation, teardown, and re-installation. Rack safety is often compromised in these situations, which could lead to the possibility of failure and injury to warehouse employees.
More importantly, the Universal Pallet Rack Drop Pin 2.0 meets warehouse safety requirements put forth by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Rack Manufacturers Institute (RMI). Point 16.1, Section 5.4.2 of the ANSI states:
“…a locking device that prevents disengagement of the shelf beam when subjected to a 1,000 lbs. vertical uplift force. It is important that the locking devices be properly installed and remain engaged.”
